Dental hygiene

A dental hygienist is a health care professional who plays a vital role in educating the population in learning, controlling and maintaining good oral health.

Dental hygienists:

• Teach the principles of oral hygiene;
• Establish preventive programs;
• Advise clients;
• Under the supervision of a dentist, use scientific methods for controlling and preventing dental ailments;
• Perform the dental medical procedures delegated to them.
