Denturologists build apparel for people partially or completely toothless with removable dentures. Their training also enables them to work in the field of implantology. Under the supervision of a dentist, denturologists can therefore design and make dentures which are indirectly connected to implants.
For this reason, the work of denturologists is characterized by an alternation between procedures performed on patients and the making of dentures in a laboratory. Denturologists can also repair, alter and maintain removable dentures and make specialized oral appliances.
Lastly, in the context of their practice, denturologists come across varied and complex cases which requires them to solve problems of both design and making.
