Root canal treatment (Endodontics)

is the field and specialty of dentistry that studies the morphology, physiology and pathology of the dental pulp and periradicular tissues. This discipline encompasses the study and practice of basic clinical sciences, including the biology of normal pulp, as well as the etiology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases and injuries affecting the pulp and associated periradicular tissues.
